DETAILS

The East Tennessee Housing Development Corporation is a community-based housing organization dedicated to providing quality, energy efficient homes for low to moderate income home buyers and families. Our earliest beginnings were in the 1990’s when the Community Design Center formed a subsidiary to take its work beyond the architectural and design phase to the development and construction phases.

Central to our mission as affordable housing developers is our commitment to produce highly energy efficient homes for our buyers. As the first nonprofit to build Earth Craft homes in Knoxville, the East Tennessee Housing Development Corporation not only offers residents a well built house, we also offer features that ensure our buyers monthly savings on utility costs. When compared to renting our living in an older home, these savings can be significant.

We work with local government, funders, businesses, lenders, community residents, and other nonprofits to create a platform for lasting transformation in the East Tennessee region, for the good of all our residents.
